Straight A Student
School has officially ended and the marks are in! For the first time in my life I am a straight A student. I know it’s adult education and the course is only 5 months but it feels like an accomplishment all the same.
I am currently working my practicum at Dalhousie School where I am working in a grade 6 classroom. The staff there are phenomenal and I am learning so much there. I am also really enjoying the kids who insist on calling me “Mr. Bieber” which I don’t think is anything close to “Peever” but they seem to think it’s funny. At recess they run up to me and ask me to sing a few bars of “Baby” – so I do. They also like to ask me for autographs from time to time. Mean little buggers. Even EA’s are getting bullied on the school yard!
Yesterday we had our first debrief at UofW and it was nice to see all the people in my class and hear their stories. It’s amazing how many struggling kids there are out there in the schools and how much difference one extra body can make. It’s really inspiring to be a part of that.
