The Dentist

Today I went for my annual teeth cleaning and I had a breakthrough while I was there as to why I hate it so much.

The Gloves. I can’t stand the rubber gloves. They stink and they taste like crap and they are in and out of your mouth the entire time you are there. You breathe in that stink and your mouth and lips get all dry and start tasting like the gloves. It’s disgusting. I can handle the scraping and the poking with the sharp instruments but it’s the gloves that make me nauseous.

I brought this up with my hygienist today and she told me that some of the kid dentists in the city use a glove that is flavored like grape or something. I told her I was in the wrong place then because that is what I want. It also made me wonder who wouldn’t. Like someone might have a palette for clinical latex over the much more appealing grape option. There must be a price point or something. Even if they are $1.00 more than the condom flavored ones I would think my dentist office could afford it. I have insurance and still paid $38 for a cleaning so they must be making some coin. Heck I would even go out and buy my own if they would use them.
